Ignite 2023: Microsoft Announces New AI capabilities for Windows 365

Microsoft has kicked off its Ignite conference in Seattle this week, and the company is dropping some big announcements for IT pros this morning. Windows 365, the company’s new cloud service that streams a Windows 11 or Windows 10 PC to any device is getting better with AI capabilities and other new features.

Microsoft offers Windows 365 subscriptions for SMBs, enterprise customers, and plans start at $31 per user per month. Coming soon in public preview, new AI capabilities in Windows 365 will help organizations optimize their Windows 365 investments.

“Windows 365 AI capabilities for Cloud PC resizing offer recommendations to help you reduce costs, increase efficiency, and further simplify security and management of Windows 365 Cloud PCs,” Microsoft explained today. The first example will be applying AI to assess Cloud PC deployment and utilization to provide recommendations to help you better forecast and “right-size” your Cloud PC investment.”

For customers using Cloud PCs for resource-intensive tasks, Microsoft also announced today that Windows 365 GPU support is now available in preview. This is intended for graphic design, image and video rendering, 3D modeling, and other GPU-dependent workloads.

Lastly, Microsoft is also launching a new Windows app in public preview. This new app is available to download on the Microsoft Store as well as Apple devices via TestFlight, and it provides access to Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, Remote Desktop, Remote Desktop Services, Microsoft Dev Box, and more.
