Google Chrome Gets 3 New Experimental AI Features

Google Chrome AI Features

Google has detailed today 3 experimental generative AI features that Chrome users on Windows and Mac will be able to try with the release of Chrome version 121. The new generative AI features will go live in the US in the coming days, and they’ll be able to help users organize their tabs, create custom browser themes, and draft text on the web.

The first new feature is named Tab Organizer, and it will be able to suggest users to create Tab groups based on their open tabs. Chrome will also suggest names and emojis for these AI-generated tap groups to help users find them more easily. To access this feature, users will need to either right-click on a tab and then select “Organize Similar Tabs,” or click on the drop-down arrow to the left of their tabs.

In the “Customize Chrome” panel, users will also find a new option to create a custom theme with a simple AI prompt. The browser will also allow users to choose additional details to a specific theme such as an “animated” style and a “serene” mood.

The Customize Chrome panel will also display recent AI themes created by users so they can switch between them on the fly. A selection of generative AI themes made by the Chrome team is also available on this page.

The last new generative AI feature coming to Chrome is “Help Me Write,” which will provide writing suggestions when users want to write something on a web page. That could be a customer review, a question in a contact form, or an RSVP for a party. Google said that this “Help me write” feature will be available in a future Chrome update coming next month.
