DuckDuckGo has offered its Privacy Pro subscription for $9.99 per month/$99.99 per year since April 2024, but it’s improved since then. And you can now trial it for free for 7 days if you’re not sure it’s right for you.
DuckDuckGo Privacy Pro offers three privacy services:
DuckDuckGo VPN. With coverage for up to five devices, the DuckDuckGo VPN won’t log or store your activities, encrypts traffic across browsers and apps, blocks all traffic automatically if the VPN fails, and uses a secure DNS solution and the secure WireGuard protocol.
Personal information removal. This service for Mac and Windows helps you find and remove your personal information from over 50 data broker services that buy and sell it. The service repeatedly scans these brokers and automates the process of dealing with them.
Identity theft restoration. This Iris-powered service helps you fix your credit report, recover financial losses, and replace and cancel lost wallet items while providing a personal case manager and emergency cash and travel arrangements.
Privacy Pro integrates seamlessly with the DuckDuckGo web browser, providing extra protections over and above its free private browsing, private search, email protection, and app tracking protection capabilities. And since its introduction, DuckDuckGo has improved the service with more VPN servers and locations. faster Personal Information Removal scans covering more data brokers, and improved scam blocking across your whole device when the VPN is on. You can learn more about these improvements on the Spread Privacy website.
You can learn more about Privacy Pro on the DuckDuckGo website. The service is available in the U.S., Canada, EU, and the UK, and it works in English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.
