Microsoft Announces Copilot + OneDrive Event on October 20

Microsoft will be holding a Copilot + OneDrive digital event on October 20, 2026. This will be the company’s 4th annual OneDrive event, and the theme this year will be how OneDrive is “evolving for the AI era.”

“Whether you’re collaborating with your team, staying productive across devices, or rediscovering the moments that matter most, you’ll get an inside look at the latest innovations shaping the future of Copilot in OneDrive,” the company teased in a promotional video for the event.

As you may know, there’s already a Copilot in OneDrive integration for Microsoft 365 subscribers on Windows 11 and the OneDrive web app. The chatbot allows OneDrive users to summarize files, compare them, and generate audio overviews for them, but not all features are available to all users everywhere.

The free digital event will be followed by a live AMA session, and you can also submit your questions in the comment section of the announcement post. This Copilot + OneDrive event will be preceded by a Windows and Surface event on October 7, where we should hear more details about Microsoft’s Surface Laptop Ultra and other PCs powered by Nvidia’s new RTX Spark chip.
