Microsoft this week announced a set of new adds-in from Boomerang, Evernote, PayPal and Uber that will work across Outlook for PCs, Outlook on the web (part of Office 365) and Outlook.com. The firm also promises additional add-ins in the weeks and months ahead.
Microsoft announced its plans for a single add-in model across its various Outlook (and, more generally, Office) desktop applications, mobile apps, and cloud services back at Build 2015 in late April. And in late May, it revealed a number of major changes, including add-in support, coming to Outlook.com, the consumer-oriented web service.
This week, Microsoft said that previously-revealed Outlook add-ins from Boomerang, Evernote, PayPal and Uber are now starting to rollout. And it is announcing new partnerships with Evernote, IFTTT, Wunderlist and Yelp to provide Outlook add-ins down the road.

(On a side note, I’ve often complained about Microsoft over-using the Outlook brand on various products, but the ability to use the same add-ins across these products makes the branding less onerous.)
The following Outlook add-ins are now available for Outlook 2013 and Outlook on the web, and each will arrive on Outlook.com “within the next month”:
Boomerang. The Boomerang add-ins helps you schedule emails to send at the right time, be reminded when you don’t get a response, and adds a smart calendar assistant for scheduling meetings and sharing your availability with others in real-time.
Evernote. The Evernote add-in lets you share a note with others and clip emails, directly from your inbox.
PayPal. The PayPal add-in lets you send money through PayPal using email.
Uber. The Uber add-in lets you add an Uber ride reminder to any event so you can schedule a ride to a meeting or other event type.
Additionally, Microsoft revealed that add-ins for IFTTT (Outlook.com), Wunderlist (Outlook.com) and Yelp (all Outlook versions) are coming soon as well.
