In September, Twitter announced the company will finally bring back its OG, reverse-chronological timeline everyone loved. Today, the company has started rolling out the new reverse-chronological timeline to all users on iOS.
The major update to the company’s iOS app lets users switch between top tweets and latest tweets, with the former being the company’s algorithmic timeline. Although top tweets are a good way to catch up with things, Twitter really is all about the real-time updates, so the algorithmic timeline never really made much sense in the first place for a platform like Twitter.

New on iOS! Starting today, you can tap ✨ to switch between the latest and top Tweets in your timeline. Coming soon to Android. pic.twitter.com/6B9OQG391S

The switch should be a welcome change for all users. And the Twitter app will apparently default to the latest tweets timeline if you tend to switch to the latest tweets option quite frequently. The feature is rolling out on iOS today, and it will come to Android users later on.

A good change. Funny how "continuous development" so often results in changes that users don't want or need.
