Opera Partners with MSI on Opera GX MSI Edition Web Browser

Opera announced that it is partnering with gaming PC maker MSI on a custom version of its Opera GX web browser called Opera GX MSI Edition. Existing Opera GX users—and there are 25 million of them now, Opera says—can upgrade to the MSI experience using a downloadable MSI Mod.

“The Opera GX MSI Edition and new MSI Mod ensures that users stay connected with the MSI brand and its products and services in a fun and engaging way while browsing the internet with the best browser for gamers,” MSI general manager Ted Hung said. And Opera VP Mattijs de Valk added that MSI and Opera GX users can look forward to more collaborations and special projects in the near future.

Opera positions its Opera GX web browser as the go-to choice for PC gamers. It’s a special version of the standard Opera web browser that’s been optimized with CPU, RAM, and network bandwidth limiters for the best-possible gaming and browsing performance, unique features like a Hot Tabs Killer and GX Cleaner, custom themes, a GX Corner hub for gaming news and suggestions, Twitch and Discord sidebar integration, and other unique features. There are versions on both desktop and mobile.

Opera GX MSI Edition, meanwhile, is a co-branded version of Opera GX that adds live wallpapers and an animated version of MSI’s brand mascot, Lucky the Dragon. You can download the free Opera GX MSI Edition from the Opera website, while existing Opera GX users can grab the MSI Mod from the Opera GX Store.
