Vivaldi 7 Arrives With Completely Revamped User Experience

Vivaldi 7.0

The latest release of Vivaldi’s flagship desktop web browser is a big one, with a completely revamped user interface, a new customizable Dashboard, new Feed reader capabilities, and more. As the company notes, “Vivaldi 7.0 is not just an update, it’s a new Vivaldi.”

“We are proud to finally release a brand-new Vivaldi,” Vivaldi founder and CEO Jon von Tetzchner writes. “With a completely revamped look and a new flagship feature, we have cemented what Vivaldi is all about – giving you total control of your online experience.”

Here’s what’s new.

New user experience. Vivaldi 7 features a completely revamped user experience with a spacious new UI, floating tabs, and new icons and themes, but with the same extensive customization features that Vivaldi fans love. You can go minimalist or extreme, and if the new UI is too spacious for you, Vivaldi of course provides a compact style too.

Dashboard. This major new feature brings Vivaldi’s many non-browser components–Mail, Calendar, Notes, Tasks, and Feed Reader–into a single view so you can see everything at a glance. As with everything else Vivaldi does, the Dashboard is completely customizable.

Feed reader evolution. Vivaldi’s Feed reader has been overhauled with feed folders, improved feed management, YouTube channel subscriptions with no sign-in, and a dedicated widget for the new Dashboard.

Mail improvements. Vivaldi’s Mail component has a new “Jump to latest mail” button that appears when you’re scrolling through long lists of messages so you can quickly get back to the newest messages in a crowded inbox.

Sync improvements. Sync between devices is now immediate, in real-time.

“Vivaldi 7.0 isn’t just another update – it’s a brand-new Vivaldi,” von Tetzchner adds. “Whether you’re managing a million tabs, keeping up with deadlines, or just want a smooth, powerful experience, Vivaldi’s new features make sure your browser adapts to you, not the other way around.”
