Opera Adds Bluesky, Discord, and Slack to Sidebar

Opera Developer now integrates with Slack, Discord, and Bluesky

Six weeks after it tested this functionality in Opera Developer, Opera has integrated support for Bluesky, Discord, and Slack to the sidebar in Opera One, its flagship web browser.

“We’re integrating these three new applications in the sidebar of Opera One so you can have quick and convenient access to them while browsing – reducing the need for several open tabs and apps at the same time,” Opera explains. “We’re always keen on listening to your feedback, and that’s why we started the year by testing these three apps in Developer, and now we’re releasing the three most requested ones in Opera One for all of you to use.”

To get these sidebar apps, you just need to update Opera One to the latest version (or download it from Opera.com). Then, you can open the sidebar menu and locate the apps under the Messengers category and install the ones you wish to use.

The latest version of Opera One–version 117–also includes two new themes, Metamorphic and Interstellar, both of which support Light and Dark modes. Interstellar also features browser sounds, background music, and satisfying keyboard sound effects as you type, Opera says. Opera One 117 is based on Chromium 132, which also provides improved compatibility and security.
