Opera announced today that its desktop web browsers now have over 100 million users for the first time.
“This latest milestone comes as we double down on our promise to offer you a compelling alternative to default, pre-installed browsers,” Opera’s Santiago Benavides García writes. “We’ve been working hard on giving you reasons to switch, especially in regions where a lot of people tend to stay with their devices’ defaults like Europe and North America.”
In addition to over 100 million desktop users, Opera also noted that it has about 190 million users on mobile, for a total of nearly 290 million users.
Opera is unique in that it offers multiple versions of its web browser on desktop, including the flagship Opera One browser that focuses on productivity and customization, Opera GX for gamers, Opera Air for digital wellbeing, and Opera Neon for AI agentic web browsing. But each of the browsers shares the same privacy and security advantages.
“As we’re clearing this particular milestone, we’re going to continue to deliver cool features and product innovations, always staying true to our goal [of] making Opera a more attractive choice for all of you who are looking beyond the default browser,” García adds. “A hundred million thanks for being part of our journey so far. We’re excited to have you with us and discover what’s next.”
