Google Updates Chrome on the iPhone

Chrome address bar, iPhone

This may not seem like a big deal, but it is: You can now move the Chrome address bar to the bottom of the app on your iPhone.

“Now, you can choose a new position for your address bar in Chrome on iOS,” Google product manager Nick Kim Sexton writes in the announcement post. “Starting today, you can move the Chrome address bar to the bottom of your iPhone screen. We know people prefer different address bar positions depending on the size of their hands and devices, and we took those preferences into account when building this highly requested feature.”

I have been using Safari on the iPhone for the past month specifically because it supports this: The iPhone 15 Pro Max is so big that reaching the address bar in its normal position in my browser of choice was difficult.

As for Chrome, there are two ways to change the address bar position on iPhone: There’s a new Address Bar option in the app’s settings, or you can just press and hold on the address and choose “Move Address Bar to Bottom” (or “Top”).
