Mozilla Releases Firefox 122

Firefox 122

Mozilla has released Firefox 122, the latest version of its web browser, across Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, iPad, and iPhone.

The desktop versions of Firefox 122 arrive with several new features, including MDN Web Docs article suggestions while searching, images and descriptions in the pop-down search suggestions that appear as you type, improvements to the translations feature, the ability to store passkeys in the iCloud keychain on macOS, and .deb package support on Ubuntu, Debian, and Linux Mint.

Firefox 122 for Android can now be set as the default PDF reader. And for enhanced privacy, it supports Global Privacy Control and reports itself as “Android 10” to reduce fingerprinting trackers.

Firefox 122 for iPhone and iPad now supports long-press support to the jump back and recently saved sections on the Homepage, plus several fixes.

Unfortunately for Mozilla and Firefox fans, it’s unlikely that the organization can do anything to reverse the browser’s usage share troubles: Firefox is now a distant fourth on desktop, with just 7.62 percent share, and when you factor in all platforms (mobile and desktop), its share is just 3.35 percent
