Firefox 138 Brings Profile Management, More

Mozilla has released the latest version of its flagship desktop web browser, adding a new profile management feature and more.

Firefox 138 was released to stable today, April 29, 2025. It includes the following new features:

Profile management. You can now create discrete profiles, each with its own bookmarks, tabs, and browsing history, for work, school, vacationing planning, or whatever else you need. Each profile has a unique avatar and color theme, and you can switch between them on the fly. You can learn more here.

Weather suggestions. Firefox users in the United States can trigger weather-related suggestions in the address bar by typing a weather-related term or city name. The results display directly in the address bar drop-down.

Windows 11 integration. On Windows 11, Firefox now adopts “acrylic-style menus for popup windows,” which Mozilla says better match the OS’s look and feel.

Background tab links. On Linux and macOS, you can now copy links from background tabs using the tabstrip context menu.

Tab groups improvements. You can now drag and drop tab groups to reposition them.

Firefox 138 for Linux, Mac, and Windows is available for download for free from the Mozilla website.
