Thanks Paul

OK, so I just splurged on a Sonos ARC, Sub and 2 Satellites. Which means my kid will be going to Community College on a work and study program.

I just want to make clear that this expense is totally Paul’s fault and a direct result of being a premium subscriber. I am sticking to. My guns in this one, especially when my wife asks.

To the people who felt the need to comment here for no good reason I can think of: Please consider what's so broken inside you that you highjack a thank you note to complain about something you don't even do. And then stop doing that.

Please.

Cool! Will be interesting to hear your experience with the Sub (we returned our since the room was a bit too small).

Pro Tip: if you have Sonos in several rooms, remember that you can get the movie sound in other rooms. Pretty neat to hear the sound playing in the hallway and then in the kitchen so you don't miss anything while getting a refill of your favorite beverage. We just thought about this after having enjoyed the Arc for over a month…

In reply to matsan:

Dude, that pro tip is gonna cost me. I'll be Costco's favorite customer this year. ha ha ha

I'll keep you posted. I can't set it up yet because I have to run some electrical outlets and stuff in order to have everything in place as intended. The house is concrete so wiring a new outlet may involve a chipping hammer, which makes it a bit more difficult.

The idea is to replace a big cabinet where I have the TV, Receiver etc… with the TV mounted directly on the wall, the soundbar below it and a minimalist tray to put the Xbox, Tivo mini, PS and a few books to give the appearance that I am some kind of "intellectual".

Maybe I'll post the before and after pics.

In reply to BeckoningEagle:

:-) we were already heavily invested in Sonos for the rest of the house so the Arc was just a "minor" addition (we had a Sonos One stereo-pair in the living room that became the surround speakers for the Arc).

We repurposed an old IKEA-cupboard (cutting off 2" of the feet) and managed to put the PS3 and DVD/BD collection. The flush wall-mount was great! The distance between Arc and TV is not optimal according to the specs but gets the job done.

https://ibb.co/jfzb151</p>
