Windows 8.1 Support Ending

Microsoft is officially ending support for Windows 8.1 on January 10th of this year.

A radical Windows that rattled the Windows and tech community!

With it’s full start screen, tablet apps, charms bar and removal of the start button and menu.

Windows 8.1 did improve upon the previous issues. Bringing back the start button, booting to the desktop, and Windowed metro apps.

It brought a whole new slew of devices, including convertible laptops, Windows tablets, and touch screen desktop displays.

Windows 8 was technically better under the hood than 7. Especially boot times, RAM consumption and native SSD support.

The dueling new UI really hampered it’s long-term popularity unfortunately.
