Google fi international roaming

Between Christmas and New year’s, I was in Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and China.

Had great google fi service in all those countries except Vietnam. Most of the time lte. My bill for two people family plan will be $145.

I had data running full blast. App updates and photo backup over cellular.

It took about two days for the Singapore coverage to start.

Having google guidance in Shanghai and Beijing was invaluable.

I cannot use paper maps anymore. Print way too small for my eyes.

Also, pulling out paper maps in foreign countries these days makes you a real target.

I also made a few short phone calls while in Asia. Very handy to be able to call someone and ask “where are you?”.
