Intel Atom Mainstream

There are a lot of games that don’t need a ton of CPU power. Even GPU prowess isn’t that important! The existance of game-centric portables like the GPD Win and Win 2 really drive home the “pretty decent” quality of Intel SOCs. So what if someone were to develop and sell “low-cost gaming systems” based on Atom with discrete GPUs?

They’re designed to be low-cost, appliance-like systems that can run most games at moderate quality and deliver a decent enough experience. A few tweaks could produce a pretty decent cheap productivity machine. It wouldn’t take much. 8GB RAM and a real SSD would make it worth it.

That could replace a lot of corporate seats for dirt cheap!
