What devices can use the Lumia Display Dock

I am wondering about the value of having the Display Dock for connecting devices other than the phone to a monitor and keyboard through a single cable. Thinks like 2-in-1s or tablets.

I believe that the Surface family are NOT compatible since they do not support USB-C but the future is clear that this is where things are heading. I expect SP5 and SB2 to support USB-C an hopefully Thunderbolt.

is the Lumia Display Dock a good value @ the $60 price ATT is charging or are there better choices — or just wait till I need one?

I don’t have one anymore, but I’d imagine Surface would work with the right cable (USB-A to USB-C). Someone has surely tried this.

I was not aware that I could pump Video out the USB-A… is that doable?

If you already have a computer, then what’s really the point of getting a dock.

It would only make sense if you’re hooking it up to a TV or monitor.

I presume that anything that has USB 3.1 with a C connector could, in principle, work with it. Not many laptops or phones in that market yet.
