Ads in Microsoft 365 Basic

I signed up for the Microsoft 365 Basic package when it released on January 30th. I don’t need the desktop Office apps, so this was the perfect plan for me. Unfortunately, the experience has been not so stellar. When using Office dot com and the web apps, there are ads to purchase Microsoft 365. Didn’t I already purchase this? Why do I need to see ads for it when I’m already subscribed? And the even bigger kicker – if you do want to upgrade to Personal or Family plans you will be stuck paying the full price. So basically the money you spent on the Basic plan will be lost. I know this is only $20 for a year, but still.

I just wanted to share my experience in case anyone was looking to subscribe to it. Hopefully Microsoft smooths out these details.
