Carbon fiber stand for Surface Pro

Hi everyone,

I’m an Engineer and product developer by trade. I’ve been using the Surface Pro series since 2014. I still have my trusty Surface Pro 3 and it still works. Although I’ve upgraded to the newer Surface Pro.

I’ve designed and build a stand for Surface Pro. It’s something I’ve always wanted due to back pain.

I’m reaching out to Microsoft communities for feedback. I’m launching it on Indiegogo next month for a crowdfunding campaign.

Being an individual I don’t have a team or a big budget so I’m kindly asking for help.

If you have any feedback I would really appreciate it.

Here’s a 20 second clip of the prototype on YouTube..

Here’s the coming soon page on Indiegogo if you’re curious.

Thank you!

All the best, Rory

In reply to skborders:

I agree. It was always one of the things that annoyed me with my Surface Pro 3, I had it on the desk, next to my desktop monitors, but had to always look down on the SP3, I usually stacked a pile of old computer magazines under the docking station to bring it up to a usable level.

This is a great option, although I don't know how long the cable is with the newer docks, but it certainly wouldn't work with the original dock.

Using the surface on its own, it looks like a super solution. I'm not so sure how it would look with the power cable dangling off etc.

To the OP:

I no longer have a Surface Pro, so I'm not personally interested, but I would suggest looking at the practicability of using it with the charging cable or cabled dock (the old slot-in dock would be a non-starter).
