I have my doubts about the value of MSFT’s AI.

I just had occasion to boot a PC I don’t use often, and I ran through a virus check (previous one must have been several months ago). It happily displayed 15 seconds remaining, then 16, then 17, then 18, etc. Always increasing until right before the end. Wouldn’t working AI suggest 15 to 16 to 17 THEN to 20, then to 25 to 30, then to 45? That is, increment by the current delay 2 (or 3) times, then increase the increment?

That said, perhaps foolish to think the Windows virus checker uses any AI.
