New Edge

Hey just joined Thurrott after many ears of being a fan of Windows Weekly so thank you for the show. Question re the new Credg I have just installed it. The old Edge is now gone but I want to import my Favourites from it. I think I remember Paul saying it is still on PC somewhere? Any idea how to do it? Apoligies if this has already been asked

Your favorites will be added automatically without any input from yourself.

I am using the New Edge browser and I noticed something odd. I use my Surface devices in table mode where I have a split screen where on one side I have a streaming video (via Edge) while the other side has some news. The video side is sized down to 25%. That had worked fine in the original Edge as well as Chrome and Firefox. Now however, in the new Edge, I can only size the streaming video side down to about 40% of the screen. In Firefox, I can still resize down to 25% for the video side. I took it up with Surface support at Microsoft but they are clueless. Any thoughts on this?

You may try a few things:

Go to the main menu (three dots by your profile icon at the top right corner of the browser) and choose Favorites / Import. See if Edge is in the list of browsers.

If this doesn't work, uninstalling the new Edge should bring back the old Edge. If it does then try to export the Favorites and then import them in the new edge after re-installation.

Try #1 and #2 first, if it still doesn't work but you do have access to the favorites in the old edge then uninstall the new edge and mark Clear Browsing Data when uninstalling. This will clear all the settings and when re-installing the new edge it should walk you through the initial wizard again and maybe they do transfer in as it should have happened.

Try doing a search on your system drive for *edge*.exe and see if you find any results where the file has the old Edge icon
