Question about outlook alias and microsoft account

I had a question and hope that someone here can provide some insight. I have a Microsoft live account from way back. Within my office 365 (Microsoft 365 or whatever it is these days) I have an outlook email alias. Can that alias be “converted” to a real Microsoft account that can be used to log into my computer, etc?
