Serious (Devastating?) Security Issues with Edge Profiles

My son recently was using a public “school” computer (long story) and made the mistake of launching Edge without being in incognito. He logged in using his MS credentials in order to get email.

And then he was absolutely unable to log out and remove that profile from Edge. His profile was still there in the drop-down and all someone had to do was choose his profile from the dropdown list and they were logged in. Removingdeleting the profile didn’t work. Logging out didn’t work. I even walked him through deleting all edge configurations from the userprofile edge directory. Nothing worked.

And apparently this is a known problem with various suggestions for resolving. NOTHING WORKED.

The only thing that worked was to remotely (from a different machine) change his password. Now attempting to choose the profile from that computer results in a password prompt – but the profile is still there.

I’ve tried this on multiple other computers – same result.

This seems like a devastating security hole. Anyone else encountered this?
