Set my search to Google, and Microsoft Store decided to override that choice

This was an auto download from Microsoft Store, after I had changed my Edge search settings to not use Bing, but rather Google.

The app/software is called. Web Search for Microsoft Bing.

I also get every other day, Edge will enable Sync, which I always turn off, and reset sync history, even though in Policy I have disabled the “allow Edge to save History”

And of course, every time Edge updates, it will reenable these

-To Bing Search

-Shared browsing data with other Windows Features = back to on

-Location permission = back to ask, if set to block

-Sync if turn off = back on with two toggles as history on and personal back to on

-This also turns itself back on = “Allow Microsoft to save your browsing activity including history, usage, favorites, web content, and other browsing data to personalize Microsoft Edge and Microsoft services like ads, search, shopping and news.”

-this also turn itself back on = “Save screenshots of sites for history”

So yeah, don’t use Edge, but if you don’t like it, download Autoruns from Microsoft, and delete all Edge entries that are put all over your system setting to have Edge run at the start, background, auto-updates, etc. The downside, of course, is Edge version will remain at that last update, and you have to manually update, and change all the settings I have listed here back to off if you want a little less tracking.

Thanks, Microsoft,
