Microsoft Teams (free) vs Microsoft Teams (work or school)

Friends, what Microsoft is doing with Microsoft Teams (free) is simply outrageous. As a private customer without Microsoft 365, you cannot open a link that comes from a company for a meeting. In the Teams client in Windows 11 you always get the error message that the link cannot be opened. You should open Teams in a browser. As a private customer, should I really be required to subscribe to Teams Essentials in addition to my Office 365 subscription? Dear Microsoft, you’re really getting on my nerves.
