When it launched on Xbox One last December, Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) was a console exclusive. But it’s availability on PlayStation 4 (PS4) this December suggests that that exclusivity was only for a year.
News of PUBG’s arrival on PS4 isn’t official yet, but it’s been confirmed by multiple sources.

“PUBG is coming to PS4,” video game analyst Daniel Ahmad wrote in a forum post on Resetera. “It’s in my PS4 game database. Don’t know when it’s coming out, but it’s already on Sony servers.” The release was previously leaked by the Korean ratings board. And various users have downloaded game imagery from Sony’s servers as well.
More to the point, this release has seemed inevitable almost from the start. And with PUBG still experiencing serious performance issues on Xbox One, it will be interesting to see how well it performs on the PS4.
Finally, it’s not clear yet how Microsoft will react to this exclusive game loss. But the firm promises “big PUBG news” at XO18 event, which happens on November 10.
