Xbox Game Pass for PC Pricing Leaks

Ahead of today’s its E3 press conference, Microsoft has leaked the pricing for its Xbox Game Pass for PC. And it’s extremely reasonable.

“Get unlimited access to a library of high-quality PC games on Windows 10,” the description for the awkwardly-named “Xbox Game Pass PC Games” reads on the Microsoft Store online. Download and play new games from Xbox Game Studios the day they release—plus recent blockbusters and critically-acclaimed indie games. With a huge variety of games from every genre, there’s something for everyone—and enjoy exclusive member deals and discounts. With games added all the time, you’ll always have something new to play.

Not sure about that name, but the pricing looks good: $4.99 per month, with an introductory offer of just $1 for the first month.

There are no other buying options, but I expect to see 3-month, 6-month, and one year offers as well, each with a discount over the normal monthly cost. But even at this highest rate, Xbox Game Pass for PC is a steal: The normal Xbox Game Pass subscription, for Xbox One, is $10 per month. So the PC version is half the price.

That page also reveals some of the games we can expect to see offered through the service, including Forza Horizon 4, Hello Neighbor, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, Sea of Thieves Anniversary Edition, State of Decay 2, We Happy Few, and ARK: Survival Evolved. A few other titles, including Halo: The Masterchief Collection, Gears 5, and Ori and the Will of the Wisps, are listed as “coming soon.”

There’s a nice intro video for the service, and the following information:

A library of high-quality PC games. Play a huge variety of games from every genre – there’s something for everyone.

New games added all the time. With games added all the time, you’ll always have something new to play.

Exclusive discounts on games and add-ons. Love a game currently in the library and want to own it? You can buy it and save up to 20% off, plus get up to 10% off related game add-ons and consumables.

would the cost be in addition to the Xbox game pass or included if you are already subscribed? Not clear to me yet, suppose we’ll find out soon enough!
