The much-anticipated next-gen upgrade for Cyberpunk 2077 is launching today on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 consoles. The free upgrade coincides with the release of the game’s patch 1.5, which introduces several changes to the core gameplay.
Cyberpunk 2077 was already optimized for the PS5 and the Xbox Series X|S, with the current-gen consoles being capable of running the game much better than the base Xbox One and PS4. Performance was actually so bad on last-gen consoles at launch that Sony went as far as pulling the game from its PlayStation Store for a couple of months.

With today’s patch 1.5, Cyberpunk 2077 delivers exclusive features to Xbox Series X|S and PS5 consoles including improved crowd reactions, faster loading times, ray-traced local shadows, and a variety of other visual and technical improvements. Both the Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5 let gamers choose between a 30 FPS Ray Tracing Mode and a 60 FPS Performance with dynamic 4K scaling. However, Xbox Series S owners will be restricted to a single 1440p/30 FPS mode with no ray-traced shadows.
On all platforms, today’s patch 1.5 for Cyberpunk 2077 also introduces a revamped AI system for enemies and pedestrians, a more realistic drive model with changes to vehicle traffic, as well as new ways to customize your character. The skill tree has also been updated and players will need to reassign all their perk points for free.
All in all, this massive patch is a good opportunity for developer CD Projekt Red to redeem the reputation of a game that shipped in a pretty bad state, especially on last-gen consoles. In addition to this much-anticipated next-gen up, a free 5 hours trial of Cyberpunk 2077 is now available to download exclusively on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 consoles starting today.

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of my favourite game. I played it when it was available. The plot, music, views are awesome, but sometimes I couldn’t focus on that bc of the technical problems… but now it is better! Driving car became much more nicer. And other things became really better. I will definitely play Cyberpunk again later, hope to get DLC
