Microsoft Announces Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase on June 12

If there will be no E3 2022 in June this year, Microsoft has just announced that it will hold its Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase on Sunday, June 12 at 10 AM PT. The event will feature upcoming games coming from Xbox Game Studios, as well as other titles from partner studios coming to Xbox.

“The Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase will include everything you need to know about the diverse lineup of games coming soon to the Xbox ecosystem, including upcoming releases to Game Pass on Xbox and PC,” Microsoft said today. Starfield, the upcoming sci-fi action RPG from Bethesda and one of the most-anticipated games of the year will likely get some stage time during the event.

Microsoft also has many other games in the pipeline that we haven’t seen in a while including Forza Motorsport 8, Fable, Avowed, or Everwild. Hellblade II, one of the first games to use Epic Game’s Unreal Engine 5 may also make another appearance after we saw an impressive gameplay reveal trailer at The Game Awards 2021.

It’s still early days for this new console generation, but the perception problem that affected the Xbox brand during the previous console generation is finally starting to go away. “With our Xbox Series X and S consoles, we have taken share globally for two quarters in a row and we are the market leader this quarter among the next-gen consoles in the United States, Canada, UK, and Western Europe,” Nadella said earlier this week during the company’s FY2022 Q3 earnings calls.

Last but not least, we’re not hearing as many “Xbox has no games” jokes these days as Microsoft has finally started pumping out critically-acclaimed Xbox exclusives almost every quarter. It also helps that an increasing number of high-profile third-party games are also being released on day one on Xbox Game Pass.

This year’s Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase should be really interesting, and it will be streamed live on YouTube, Twitch, and many other platforms in over 30 languages. Let us know in the comments what do you expect to see during the event.
