Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 is Now Available

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 is now available on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation consoles. This is a new version of the Call of Duty battle royale experience with a new map, game modes, and other gameplay changes compared to the original Warzone game, which will continue to exist.

The new Warzone 2.0 map, Al Mazrah, mixes rural outskirts with a metropolitan area. Players will find new vehicles including an armored patrol boat. Warzone 2.0 introduces new aquatic combat capabilities, though be aware that you can only use select weapons and other tactical equipment underwater.

On the ground, you can now knock off the doors of vehicles and blow out their tires as well. All vehicles now consume fuel that you can refill at gas stations, and you can also repair tire damage there.

The Gulag experience that players encounter upon first death has also been revamped in Warzone 2.0: It’s now a 2v2 fight and players will be randomly paired with each other. The Overtime mechanism introduces a new heavily-armed Jailer in the middle of the map, and eliminating him will send all four players back to the match.

In addition to the classic Battle Royale experience, players will discover a new DMZ mode where they can complete faction-based missions and earn loot to use in the next match. The optional contracts available in the Battle Royale mode are also included in DMZ, in addition to new Strongholds filled with AI enemies.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 still supports cross-play multiplayer on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, and owners of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II can enjoy some bonus content and XP in the game. As mentioned earlier, the original Warzone game will live on and be rebranded to “Warzone Caldera” later this year.
