Microsoft Kicks Off its Xbox Countdown Sale

Microsoft has kicked off its Xbox Countdown Sale today, and for a limited time the company will be offering up to 60% discount on hundreds of Xbox digital games. This year’s Countdown Sale will end on January 2, and many of the biggest games of the year are on sale on the Xbox Store.

We tried to pick up some of the best games in the list that aren’t available on Xbox Game Pass, including some not-so-recent games that have been recently optimized for Xbox Series X|S consoles. Here’s our list:

If you’re still on the fence about purchasing Activision’s latest Call of Duty game, you can actually play the multiplayer modes of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II for free this weekend. You don’t even need Xbox Live Gold to participate in the multiplayer free access period, which will end on Monday, December 19 at 10AM PT.

Lastly, Microsoft is also discounting various Xbox controllers during its Countdown Sale. The standard black, white, and red controllers are down to $39.99 on the Microsoft Store, while the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller is down to $154.99. If the Xbox Stereo Headset (wired) also saw its price drop to $46.99, the wireless version isn’t discounted.
