Redfall, Ravenlok, and More Are Headed to Game Pass in May

Microsoft has just revealed the next games coming to the Game Pass library in May. The Xbox exclusive Redfall is launching today on Game Pass for Console, PC, and Cloud, and it will be followed by the upcoming action RPG title Ravenlok on Thursday.

Redfall is the first blockbuster game from Bethesda to be released after Microsoft acquired the company. And unfortunately for Microsoft, its 64 score on Metacritic is the worst we’ve seen in a while for a first-party game. Most reviews criticized the dull gameplay and lack of polish, and the Xbox Series X version is also currently capped at 30 FPS as developer Arkane Studios is still working on a 60FPS performance mode.

So far, Microsoft has been struggling to keep its promise to release new first-party games on Game Pass every quarter, but ultimately, quality probably matters more than quantity and a game like Redfall receiving poor reviews contributes to the “Xbox has no games” narrative. Let’s hope that Starfield, the much-anticipated sci-fi RPG coming in September manages to meet the high expectations from fans of Bethesda games.

If Redfall isn’t your cup of tea, here are the four other games coming to the Game Pass library in May:

  • Ravenlok (Cloud, Console, and PC) – May 4, available on day one with Game Pass:
  • Weird West: Definitive Edition (Xbox Series X|S) – May 8
  • Shadowrun Trilogy (PC) – May 9
  • Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 (Cloud, Console, and PC) – May 11, available on day one with Game Pass

Lastly, Microsoft announced that five games will be leaving the Game Pass catalog on May 15: The list includes Before We Leave, Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Anniversary Edition, Hearts of Iron IV, Her Story, and Umurangi Generation: Special Edition. As usual, you save up 20% off these games before they disappear from the Game Pass library.
