Fortnite Launches on Amazon’s Luna Cloud Gaming Service

Fortnite Amazon Luna

Amazon has teamed up with Epic Games to make Fortnite available on Luna, its cloud gaming service that’s now available in the U.S., Canada, Germany, and the UK. If you’re an Amazon Prime subscriber, you can play Fortnite for free on Luna and enjoy a selection of games that will rotate every month.

“Fortnite has been the most requested game from Luna customers in the U.S. and we’re thrilled to bring the title to the service,” said Daniel Rausch, vice president, Amazon Entertainment Devices and Services. “We’re committed to making gaming more accessible and more affordable, without the need for expensive hardware.”

Amazon Luna is currently available on PCs, Macs, and Chromebooks via the web, and it’s also available on iOS, Android, Amazon’s Fire TV platform, and other smart TVs and streaming media players. If you don’t have an Amazon Prime subscription, Amazon offers a 7-day free trial for Luna+, which offers unlimited gameplay for a library of games across all genres for $9.99/month.

Overall, making Fortnite available on Amazon will surely help to raise awareness about the cloud gaming service, which has the merit of offering a better business model than the late Google Stadia. Luna offers different channels consumers can subscribe to, and PC Gamers can also stream the Ubisoft games they own on Amazon Luna for free.

Amazon’s Fortnite on Luna announcement comes just a year after Microsoft made the battle royale game available for free on Xbox Cloud Gaming. Microsoft’s cloud gaming service also has the advantage of being available in many more markets, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers get to stream to a nice collection of AAA games.
