Microsoft Details New Game Pass Games Coming in August

Xbox Game Pass August 2023 wave 2

Three brand new games are coming to Game Pass on day one this August. The first one is the space shooter Everspace 2, which is playable starting today on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Cloud Gaming. This should be a good appetizer for Starfield, Bethesda’s sci-fi RPG coming in September that will also feature space combat.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is also coming to Game Pass on its launch day on August 18. The game is based on the popular horror film released in 1974, and it will be playable on Xbox, PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

The last game coming to Game Pass on its launch day is Sea of Stars, a retro-looking turn-based RPG. The game is a prequel to The Messenger, a game that was previously added to Game Pass back in June 2020.

Other additions include the indie adventure game Firewatch, which will be making its comeback to Game Pass later this week. The platform-adventure game Gris will also join the library on September 5.

You can find all details about these new Game Pass additions below:

  • Everspace 2 (Cloud and Xbox Series X|S) – Available today
  • Firewatch (Cloud, Console, and PC) – August 17
  • The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (Cloud, Console, and PC) – August 18, available on day one with Game Pass
  • Sea of Stars (Cloud, Console, and PC) – August 29, available on day one with Game Pass
  • Gris (Cloud, Console, and PC) – September 5

Six games will also leave the Game Pass library on August 31, and the list includes Black Desert, Commandos 3, Immortality, Nuclear Throne, Surgeon Simulator 2, and Tinykin. As usual, you can save up to 20% of these games while they’re still in the library.

If you want to get early access to Starfield on September 1, you can also purchase the Starfield Premium Edition Upgrade ($31,49 with Game Pass), which includes 5 days of early access, the upcoming Shattered Space story expansion, the Constellation skin pack, and access to the Starfield digital artbook and original soundtrack. The base game will be free to play for all Game Pass subscribers on September 6.
