Microsoft Unveils Three Xbox Series X Console Wraps Coming This Fall

Xbox Series X Console Wraps Starfield

If you’ve been disappointed with the absence of limited edition Xbox Series X consoles, Microsoft has come up with a much cheaper alternative. Today, the company unveiled three Xbox Series X console wraps, which will allow gamers to customize their consoles with what Microsoft describes as a “more affordable and more sustainable” solution.

“Every detail was taken into consideration to ensure your console performance is preserved– vents are all clear, and small feet were added to the bottom of the wraps to ensure air can flow freely through the console.  Made with solid core panels that are layered with high-tech fabric finishes, the wraps are folded around your console and secured with a hook and loop enclosure,” the Xbox team explained today.

The Starfield-themed Xbox Series X console wrap, which matches the design of the limited edition Starfield Xbox Controller and Headset, is already available for pre-order for $49.99. It will start shipping to the US, Canada, and Europe on October 18.

Microsoft also unveiled today the Arctic Camo and Mineral Camo Xbox Series X console wraps, which will be slightly cheaper at $44.99. These two console wraps are also available for pre-order and will start shipping on November 10.

As Sony has started selling its own plastic covers for its PlayStation 5 console, it’s interesting to see Microsoft doing something slightly different. It’s not clear yet if this marks the end of custom-designed Xbox Series X consoles, but we’ve seen nothing coming on that front since the release of the limited edition Halo Infinite model released in the fall of 2021 to celebrate the launch of the Xbox exclusive game.
