Microsoft Announces Xbox Partner Preview Broadcast on October 25

Xbox Partner Preview

The Xbox team announced today a new digital event, the “Xbox Partner Preview” that will be streamed live on Wednesday, October 25 at 10AM PT. This event will focus on new third-party games coming soon on Xbox and PC, and there will be some exclusive Game Pass announcements as well.

The event will be a pretty short one, similar to Nintendo’s Direct or Playstation’s State of Play formats: The Xbox team promises “20 minutes of trailers and new gameplay footage,” which is good. Both Sony and Nintendo usually do a pretty good job at generating excitement for games shipping soon on their platforms, and Microsoft could certainly do better on that front.

Today’s announcement mentioned developers Remedy Entertainment, Studio Wildcard, and Ryi Ga Gotoku Studio. “You can expect to see the latest information on in-game activities for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, a launch trailer for Alan Wake 2, the first gameplay for Ark: Survival Ascended, a dive into the social world of Dungeons of Hinterberg, and more,” the Xbox team said today.

The team also explicitly said that this Xbox Partner Preview broadcast won’t provide any additional information about the integration of Activision Blizzard games into Microsoft’s Game Pass service. Last week, Phil Spencer said that we shouldn’t expect the first ABK games to land on Game Pass until 2024.

The Xbox Partner Preview broadcast will be live-streamed on YouTube and Twitch, and it will be available in over 30 languages. Xbox is in a pretty good place right now with the launch of Starfield, the new Forza Motorsport, a new 1TB Xbox Series S Carbon Black console, and of course, the acquisition of Activision Blizzard. It’s a really good time for a marketing push, and Microsoft has also just revived its “Power your Dreams” marketing campaign for the holiday season.
