Microsoft announced today that Xbox Cloud Gaming is now available via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on the Meta Quest 3 virtual reality (VR) headset. It’s also available on Meta Quest 2 and Pro.
“At Xbox, we’re always looking to make gaming available to more people on more devices,” Microsoft’s Joe Skrebels writes in the announcement post. “You can play hundreds of games with a Meta Quest 2, 3, or Pro headset, the latest Quest software update, an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership, a supported controller, and a high-speed internet connection.”

Meta Quest owners interested in the service can download the Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) app from the Meta Quest Store and then pair the headset to a supported controller. Compatible games can be played in 2D in any of four sizes, and you can play in a fully immersive Xbox-themed virtual environment or use the headset’s stereoscopic full-color passthrough feature for an AR-like experience in which you can see your physical surroundings.
Compatible controllers include the Xbox Wireless Controllers, the PlayStation 4 Dual Shock 4 controller, and the Nintendo Switch Pro controller. Support for PlayStation 5 controllers is coming in the future, Meta says, while noting that Quest owners will also need to download the latest Quest software update.
