Microsoft Opens Pre-Orders for All-Digital Xbox Series X and 2TB Special Edition Model

Pre-Orders New Xbox Series X_S Console Options

Microsoft is opening pre-orders for the new Xbox Series X|S consoles it first announced in June: The $449.99 all-digital Xbox Series X with a new white color, the $599.99 2TB Galaxy Black Special Edition with its space-inspired finish, and the $349.99 white Xbox Series S with 1TB of storage.

These three new Xbox Series X|S consoles will start shipping in select markets on October 15, with more countries to follow on October 29. However, Microsoft won’t make them available in a couple of markets including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, India, Israel, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Turkey, and UAE. The Xbox Series X 2TB Galaxy Black Special Edition will also be available in limited quantities.

If Sony’s PlayStation 5 already went through multiple hardware revisions to improve thermal performance and power consumption, Microsoft hasn’t mentioned similar changes in its latest Xbox consoles. The white disc-less Xbox Series X is just as big as the regular model with a disc drive, so if you really want to save $50 but need the disc drive, you may want to look at refurbished Xbox Series X consoles, which are also priced at $449.99.

Regarding the Xbox Series S, Microsoft had already released a 1TB model with a “Carbon Black” body last year. The company said in June that it will remain available for purchase alongside the new 1TB Robot White model while supplies last.
