Microsoft’s Xbox Cloud Gaming service is adding seven new games to the Stream Your Own Game collection this week, including the freshly released Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members who purchase the game on the Microsoft Store can now access it via Microsoft’s cloud gaming service, and the company is also using this game to test a new game switching experience on the Xbox Cloud Gaming web app.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows headlines the latest additions to the Stream Your Own Game collection on Xbox Cloud Gaming, which also include Gotham Nights, Party Animals, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and Wobbly Life. Five other games have also been announced as “coming soon,” and the list includes Planet Coaster 2, Planet Zoo: Console Edition, Raft, Shredders, and The Thing: Remastered.
As for the new game-switching experience I mentioned earlier, it’s now available on the Xbox Cloud Gaming web app, but just for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. It will let players seamlessly switch to other cloud-enabled Assassin’s Creed games without having to return to the app’s home page every time.

“When launching Assassin’s Creed Shadows, players can select other Assassin’s Creed games from an in-game hub and see a pop-up with information about each game. They can then directly launch the available Assassin’s Creed games with one click from within Assassin’s Creed Shadows. If the game is not owned or isn’t available on the cloud, players will receive a notification,” the Xbox team explained. This seamless game-switching experience will be enabled for more cloud-playable games soon.
The Xbox team also mentioned today some design updates for the Xbox Game Bar on PC. The Game Bar and various utility widgets are being refreshed, and Microsoft is also improving controller navigation within the Widget Store, and this should also benefit players on Windows Handhelds.
