Microsoft has started testing mouse and keyboard support for cloud-enabled games on Xbox consoles. The new Xbox Cloud Gaming capability is going live today for Xbox Insiders on the Alpha Skip-Ahead, Alpha, Beta, and Delta rings.
“With the latest updates to Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta), you can now use mouse and keyboard to play some of your favorite Xbox cloud games on your Xbox console. Much like the current experience on PC and in some browsers, there are currently a select number of titles that support mouse and keyboard input, but more are coming,” the Xbox team explained in the release notes for the update.
Hey Delta #XboxInsiders! Mouse and keyboard support has been added to Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) on Xbox consoles, so be sure to check the updated release notes above or in the Xbox Insider Hub app for the latest info.

Xbox consoles added mouse and keyboard support back in 2018, but it’s still up to game developers to implement it in their games. Many shooters on Xbox now support mouse and keyboard, including Fortnite, Halo: Infinite, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and Cyberpunk 2077.
A year ago, Microsoft added mouse and keyboard input for Xbox Cloud Gaming on PC, and this currently works in both the Xbox app for PC and compatible web browsers like Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome. Microsoft often launches new Xbox Cloud Gaming features on PC first, as was the case recently with the “Stream your own game” library. However, Xbox gamers shouldn’t have to wait long to get mouse and keyboard support for cloud-enabled games.
