Microsoft’s Gaming Copilot is Coming to the PC Game Bar on Windows 11

Microsoft Gaming Copilot

The new Microsoft Gaming Copilot that Microsoft has been testing with Xbox Insiders is starting to roll out to all Windows 11 users. It’s integrated into the Game Bar overlay, where it works as a “personal gaming sidekick” that can provide assistance while playing a game.

Microsoft’s Gaming Copilot has a Voice Mode allowing players to ask for help about the game they’re playing without having to type anything. PC gamers can either set up a key bind shortcut to activate the “Push to Talk” feature or keep the Gaming Copilot pinned on the screen as a mini widget pinned for long conversations.

“During this preview phase, the number one way we saw players using Gaming Copilot was to improve their gameplay, answering their questions around quests, strategies, builds, and more so they can stay in the game. Now, any Xbox player on PC or with the Xbox app on mobile will be able to leverage Gaming Copilot’s capabilities while playing, with new features and improvements like deeper insights and coaching to come as we continue to gather feedback and learn from our community,” the Xbox team said today.

Microsoft’s Gaming Copilot will be rolling out to Windows 11 users aged 18 and older, and it will be available globally except in China. The mobile version of the gaming assistant, which is currently available in the beta versions of the Xbox app for iOS and Android, will become available for all users in October.

The Xbox team also said today that it’s working to optimize the Gaming Copilot for gaming handhelds such as the upcoming ROG Xbox Ally. The AI assistant will also be coming to Xbox consoles “in the near future.”
