Backbone Pro Xbox Edition is Now Available

Backbone today announced the Backbone Pro Xbox Edition controller, which features a classic green transparent design inspired by Xbox.

“The Backbone Pro Xbox Edition is our next generation controller engineered from the ground up to let players play across multiple screens with a single device, built for the future of gaming,” the Backbone announcement explains. “Backbone Pro lets you play titles like Forza Horizon 5 and Minecraft on not only your phone but also PC, tablets, laptops, smart TVs, Meta Quest, and more, and switch between them instantly. No pairing menus. Just tap and play.”

I reviewed the original Backbone Pro back in May and praised it for its compatibility with PCs, videogame consoles, iPads, other tablets, and smart TVs in addition to iPhones and Android smartphones. The Xbox Edition carries all that forward, offering the same Handheld (UBC-C) and Wireless modes as its predecessor, universal launcher (with support for Xbox Cloud Gaming, Remote Play, emulator games, Apple Arcade, PlayStation Remote Play, Steam Link, and App Store games like Roblox, Fortnite, Minecraft, and more), and other features.

From a hardware perspective, the Backbone Pro Xbox Edition delivers the same hall effect triggers, full-sized joysticks, updated ergonomic design, customizable back buttons, and other features from the original. Backbone Pro Xbox Edition also comes with one free month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

You can learn more about the Backbone Pro Xbox Edition from the Backbone website. The controller is now available for purchase for $179.99 from Backbone, Amazon, and Best Buy.
