Rockstar Games Reacts to GTA VI Leaks Ahead of Gameplay Reveal Tomorrow

Rockstar Games has finally released an official statement in reaction to the series of GTA VI leaks that started last week. The source known as “Cyberleeks” has now threatened to release story spoilers ahead of the official gameplay reveal tomorrow, and this is likely what pushed Rockstar Games to respond.

“We know that many of you have been waiting to hear from us regarding the events of the past week. It would be an understatement to say that having videos of Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay leak in this way has been heartbreaking for our team, and this is obviously not how we intended for you to see the game after all this time. We are very sorry that everything has taken as long as it has – from getting the game finished (nearly there!) to sharing more details and official gameplay, and providing the community with everything you want to know,” the developer said today.

Rockstar has partnered with Netflix to air an “Extended look” at GTA 6 tomorrow at 3 PM ET. The video will also be published on Rockstar Games’ YouTube Channel at 9 PM ET, but a new series of leaks may well spoil the surprise for everyone.

“We are very excited for everyone to see the extended look tomorrow. It has taken longer than we wanted to get it ready, but as with everything we do, we know we need to exceed your expectations, and we are determined to deliver at the level you expect and deserve. While it is unfortunate that the intended game experience may now be impacted by some spoilers, we hope that everyone will wait a bit longer to experience the game for themselves on November 19,” Rockstar Games said about the gameplay reveal tomorrow.

Lastly, the GTA VI developer thanked all gamers who have shared their support with the team since the leaks started a week ago. “Ultimately, we are making this game for you, and without you, we would not have the privilege of making games,” the company said.

GTA VI is one of the most anticipated games of all time, but with its release being three months away, leakers still have plenty of time to derail Rockstar Games’ marketing campaign for the game. A recent report from Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier revealed that Rockstar has yet to identify the leaker or understand how they managed to get their hands on a working build of the game.
