Xbox (Beta) App for Windows 10 Gets Twitter Sharing, More in New Update

A new update to the Xbox (Beta) app for Windows 10 provides a number of useful new features, including Twitter sharing, Game DVR clip editing, PC game hubs, and more.

Note: Microsoft didn’t announce the new update for some reason, so the only information we have comes from the app’s description in Windows Store. But I was tipped off to this update by WinBeta. And these features were all promised previously by Microsoft.

Make no mistake, this is a big update. Here’s what’s new:

• Twitter integration. You can now share to Twitter, in addition to the normal Xbox Live sharing and Facebook. You can also link your account to Twitter, which will automatically tweet yhour achievements and screen captures.

• Game DVR clip editing. Now you can download Game DVR clips with Xbox (Beta) and then edit them with third party video editors. After which, you can then share the edited video.
• Game hubs for top PC games. As promised, the first round of game hubs for top PC games are available, so you can keep track of what your friends are doing no matter which online services they use.

• Improved profile customization. You can now customize your location and description. (These were previously read-only in the app.)

• Better friends suggestions. The suggestion engine for Xbox Live friends has been improved to focus on friends of friends rather than famous Xbox Live accounts.
• People app integration. Your Xbox Live friends can now show up in the Windows 10 People app.

And in case it’s not obvious, the Xbox (Beta) app provides access to new features before they show up in the Xbox app that ships with Windows 10. You can download Xbox (Beta) from the Windows Store.
