Microsoft announced today that Flight Simulator 2024 will launch on the PlayStation 5 on December 8, a bit over a year after it shipped on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, PC Game Pass, Game Pass Ultimate, and Xbox Cloud Gaming. It’s available for preorder now.
“Today during Sony’s ‘State of Play’ broadcast, Asobo Studio, in partnership with Xbox Game Studios, announced that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is coming to PlayStation 5, and preorders are available now,” a Microsoft representative told me. “Those who pre-order the Deluxe, Premium Deluxe or Aviator Editions will have Early Access beginning on December 3, and all pre-orders come with the famous Northrop T38-A Talon. General availability is December 8.”
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 includes up to 125 highly detailed aircraft, more than 40,000 airports and runways, over 2,000 glider airports, and over 80,000 helipads, a franchise-first career system that builds skills and provides access to missions in firefighting, search and rescue, aerial construction, agriculture and more, experiences like landing challenges, rally races, low altitude challenges, World Photographer mode, and a new Challenge League.
The PlayStation 5 will even include an exclusive feature: It supports immersive DualSense controller features like adaptive triggers (that will respond to speed, surface types, and sloped resistance) and the controller speaker (for air traffic control communications).
