Halo Infinite Season 4 Arrives Next Week

Halo Infinite Season 4: Infection

Microsoft today announced that Halo Infinite Season 4 arrives next week, on June 20, adding the fan-favorite Infection mode and lots of other new content.

Infection started as a custom game in Halo 2 before becoming part of the standard playlists in Halo 3. And it’s appeared in every Halo version ever since.

“[It’s] a classic Zombies-versus-survivors set up,” 343 Industries’ Joe McDonagh explains. “Everyone starts on one side, as a survivor. Everyone but the single Alpha Infected, that is. If you get killed by the Alpha Infected, you switch sides and become an Infected. It boils down to this: can the survivors survive until the end of the round, as they get whittled down by the Infected? It leads to some awesome, last man standing ‘Get to the chopper’ style moments.”

Season 4 also brings a new Career Rank system, two new multiplayer maps (Forest and Scarr), new equipment (a quantum translocator and a threat seeker), a major Forge Update, and some quality-of-life updates and bug fixes. It is also the third-straight season that 343 has delivered on schedule, an important and even sensitive point given Halo Infinite’s infamous early delays.

Halo Infinite Season 4 will be free for all players across all supported platforms.
