You Can Preorder the ASUS ROG XBOX Ally X20 Now

Back in June, ASUS announced that it would celebrate the 20th anniversary of ROG with the ROG XBOX Ally X20 bundle. Today, you can preorder that bundle, which includes a pair of ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 Gaming AR glasses, but you can also preorder the standalone gaming handheld too.

“The ROG XBOX Ally X20 is a handheld that’s both a throwback to gaming two decades ago and a vision of what’s next,” the ASUS announcement explains. “Housed in a translucent black chassis with a vibrant gold internal structure, the XBOX Ally X20 debuts ROG’s all-new Nebula HDR Display with a 7.4-inch OLED panel, and it’s powered by the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor for ample gaming horsepower.”

The ROG XBOX Ally X20 costs $1,299 for the standalone version, which you will note is about $300 more than the launch price of its predecessor, the ROG Xbox Ally X. You can also get the bundle, which includes the ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 Gaming AR Glasses, a dbrand Killswitch for ROG XBOX Ally X20, a 68-watt adapter, and a custom Pelican Protector Case for $2,499. Both versions will be available for sale starting October 15.

Compared to its predecessor, the ROG XBOX Ally X20 includes a larger and OLED-based display with HDR (though it’s still 1080p and 16:9), the same CPU, the same RAM and storage (24 GB/1 TB), the same expansion (USB4/Thunderbolt 4 Type-C and USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C), the same connectivity (Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4), the same battery, the same buttons/layout, and so on. So what differentiates this device, basically, is the screen and the chassis, which is now translucent with black and gold accents.
