Google is reportedly planning to expand its Made by Google line of products with a couple of new devices later this year. The company is expected to launch a wide range of new devices, including new smartphones, smart speakers, and security cameras later this year, according to Japanese publication Nikkei.
Most of what Google is planning to launch this year is already known, like the new Pixel 3 Lite line. The company is expected to launch the new Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 XL Lite sometime this Spring to compete with Apple’s iPhone Xr device. The new Pixel 3 Lite line will reportedly undercut the iPhone Xr in terms of pricing. The company is also expected to launch the new Pixel 4 line later this year.
Along with the new Pixel phones, Google is apparently working on a new Google Home speaker. Although Google has been introducing new Home-branded products over the years, the company is going to be updating the regular Google Home speaker later this year after a long time. It’s not clear what’s expected to change on the new Home speaker, however.
The company is also apparently planning to launch the new Pixel Watch later this year, which would make sense considering Google just recently spent $40 million on Fossil’s smartwatch tech.
And lastly, the company is reportedly working on a new security camera. The company was previously rumored to be rebranding its Nest-branded products after the Nest team got integrated into Google, meaning the new security camera could be part of the Google Home brand or possibly continue featuring the Nest brand.
Most of these new products aren’t expected to make an appearance till later this year, considering the company usually launches new products around October. Still, if last year is anything to go by, we will probably get a solid idea of what Google has in stores weeks, or maybe even months before their official launch.
