Google to Hold In-Person Pixel Event on October 6

Google has started sending invites for a Pixel hardware event that will be held next month on October 6. The event will be live streamed at 10 AM ET, but Google will also hold an in-person event in Brooklyn, which will be a first since the pandemic hit the world two years ago.

Google’s teaser video of the event shows upcoming Pixel devices the company previously unveiled at its I/O conference back in May: the Pixel 7, the Pixel Watch, and the new Pixel Buds Pro.

If Google’s Pixel phones don’t enjoy the same mindshare as iPhones or high-end Android phones from Samsung and other top manufacturers, the Pixel brand is usually associated with solid specs and excellent photo capabilities at a reasonable price. The upcoming Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro shouldn’t differ too much from that formula.

The Pixel Watch, on the other hand, will be the first Wear OS watch designed from the ground up by Google. The company also previously teased a new Pixel tablet, but it looks like it won’t be present at this October 6 event.

Google announced its upcoming Pixel event just a day before Apple holds its big iPhone event. In addition to the new iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro, Apple is expected to announce the Apple Watch models as well as the AirPods Pro 2 tomorrow.
